Real moonflowers are vine plants, which open at dusk, blossoming only at night, petals glowing in the moonlight.  They mean, “I only dream of love.”  The moonstone flower was created by marrying parts of the moonflower, which loves the night’s reflection of the sun via the moon with the tall stateliness of the sunflower whose face follows the sun by day.

Henry David Thoreau said, "Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed. Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders."
