Amoeba Art

Skill Level: Intermediate, Embellishment Class, very light/minimum machine stitching.
Recommended Number of Students: 10-20

Masses of beads and thread 'float' on the surface of these colorful fiber art ‘species.’  Create your own one-of-a-kind scientific wonders to wear, display or give as gifts. These amoebas can be fashioned into pins, magnets or framed as small art treasures.

 Students will complete 1-3 amoebas during class.  Mini lessons include machine construction, simple hand embroidery stitches, basic beading and bead collage techniques. 


Materials: 
Small amounts of hand dyed or batik fabrics, scraps of cotton batting, decorative embroidery threads, notions, etc.  A complete supply list available upon booking the class.  

A Kit Fee of $15.00 will be collected in class by the teacher.  For this fee, students will choose 2 bead stew colors, 2 pin backs, 2 charms, beading needles and have class use of beading thread.
